Myroslav Marynovych, vice-rector for university mission of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), has been named the “ecumenical personality of 2011.” He was chosen by readers of the publication Dukhovnist (“Spirituality”), who every month chose a person that they consider an “ecumenical personality,” who has worked for the unity of the Christian churches.

“Myroslav Marynovych is an active supporter of the ecumenical movement,” reads the announcement from Dukhovnist.
“I truly love the Christ-centered model of ecumenism, where the center is Christ, from whom the rays come. As a church, as one of these rays, comes closer to Christ, so do the churches come closer to one another. And as they go farther from Christ, so they go farther from each other,” said Marynovych in an interview for Dukhovnist.
